The puzzles make the most of space too, though in a very different way. There are still limits to this-the camera remains fixed and eventually you'll hit an invisible wall-but it makes the levels feel more like actual places and not like simple A to B throughlines as some sections can feel like in other sidescrollers.

Since it's a 2.5D affair, there are times when you can wander off into the background and explore, sometimes finding hidden collectibles or easter eggs nestled away. Little Nightmares 2 makes the most of open spaces. Six is basically there to help you complete puzzles, give you general hints when you’re stuck, and protecting her drives a lot of the narrative, loose though it may be. It offers very little instruction or handholding (apart from a literal handholding mechanic with your partner, Six), but that suits the eerie tones, and such trust in the player is welcome.

It's tempting to keep focusing on the visuals, but the gameplay doesn't just exist to lead you from one scene to the next. And all you see is a mulititude of small cloaked figures all staring at you from the shelves and barrels before you are pelted with the the contents of the shelves. Just an army of “kids” one forth her size just charging at her with mirrors, blocks from the prison, knives they probably got from the kitchen, lights of all kinds and who knows what else, the would be the moment she knew that she fucked up. And while we would all probably split up and go on different routes some of us with six, others with seven, some with the kids from the comics and others finding our own paths we would all still some how meet up in the general area of the lady. And like the non-children oc’s we create we would encounter on the Maw along with the in game workers and we would all protect the children oc’s and the actual kids from the game. I feel like if everyone in the (admitedly small) little nightmares fandom were actually taken aboard the Maw, we would all band together to try to not die and possibly escape some how.
